British Gymnastics (BG) adopted the Sport England Club Mark accreditation scheme in 2003, introducing the GymMark initiative soon after. Since then the needs of our clubs have changed significantly and as such we are undertaking a full review of the programme. With input from clubs and key stakeholders, some great insight has been gathered which helps to establish the overall effectiveness of GymMark in its current format. Using this insight, BG plans to explore the scope of GymMark with the prospect of developing a new or refreshed programme.
To allow this development to take place, new GymMark accreditation applications are being put on hold from the 31st March 2015 until further notice.
Clubs that have re-accredited since 31st March 2011 will retain their GymMark accreditation during the review period, clubs that have not will lose it.
The review is an exciting time for the GymMark project and we ultimately hope to be able to refresh the programme to better meets the needs of our member clubs. We will endeavour to keep you updated with the progress of the review and will contact you once the review is complete to clarify any changes and improvements to the programme.
